Here at Bare Necessities, we believe that something as simple as undergarments can inspire comfort and confidence. That holds especially true for those facing life's hardships.
To improve access to well-fitting, high-quality undergarments, this year we've proudly stepped up our efforts to aid communities in need.
During the devastating Los Angeles-area wildfires this past January, Bare Necessities teamed up with Meena Harris, Stoney Clover Lane and Babylist to stock 250 care packages that were donated to affected families. (Our contribution: Bare underwear.)
Seeing the immediate impact of this contribution encouraged us to do more—so we contributed over 17,000 brand-new bras, underwear, pajamas, activewear and swimsuits to The Undie Chest and I Support the Girls.
The Undie Chest is a nonprofit that works to restore dignity, foster healthier communities, and reduce environmental impact through underwear donations. Access to proper hygiene and intimate apparel promotes self-esteem and security, key to breaking the poverty cycle.
Operating in Los Angeles and beyond, I Support the Girls collects and distributes critical items to those experiencing homelessness, poverty, domestic violence or distress, one bra, panty and period product at a time.
By aligning with these similar-minded efforts, we feel so gratified to have made even a small dent in this acute need for life's most basic garments.
