WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR


Position Summary:
Bare Necessities is looking for a Supervisor to join its distribution/fulfillment team. The ideal candidate will have experience with distribution/ecommerce fulfillment. We are looking for an individual who has directed staff in a multi task environment with proven record of accomplishments with managing for performance improvement, coaching staff and multi-tasking. Candidate will be a results oriented self-starter with desire/ goal for long term distribution/supply chain career. The position will be responsible for directing hands on activity in one of our departments (receiving, inventory control, picking, shipping, returns). The supervisor will report to the Operations Manager with daily interaction with other supervisors to achieve daily facility goals, service levels and improving facility key metrics.

Skills & Experience
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in distribution, ecommerce or warehouse environment preferred
  • Industrial engineering degree or experience with standards/productivity management
  • Experience with directing and coaching hourly staff in distribution environment
  • Warehouse management systems knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Spanish preferred although not required
  • Computer skills experience with excel and word required
  • Ability to analyze data, develop recommendations and implement change
  • BS or Industrial engineering degree

ASSISTANT BUYER


Position Summary:
The Assistant Buyer will team with and support the Buyer in driving profitable sales growth and executing all operational functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist buyer in the development and execution of sales and assortment plans for categories and vendors
  • Perform on-going analysis and interpretation of key business issues as directed by buyer
  • Responsible for top notch presentation of product/ categories on our website to maximize conversion and sales
  • Independently manage operational functions for a designated buying office. Responsibilities include purchase order management, processing markdowns, performing necessary follow-up
  • Proficiently manage all internal retail management systems critical to the operation of the business
  • Establish and develop strong partnerships with the vendors
Qualifications:
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree required
  • Successful track record as an Assistant Buyer with 1-2 years of experience in a department store environment
  • E-commerce experience is an advantage
  • Strong retail math, problem solving, wr
  • itten and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and data entry into business management systems
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proven ability to multi task and adjust priorities as the business requires
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines, both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel to New York City frequently for market appointments
