Welcome Back, Weddings!

It’s suddenly wedding season again! About 2.5 million weddings are estimated to take place in 2022 (up from an average of about 2 million in a typical year), the most since 1984, according to the Wedding Report. Most of those are a backlog of celebrations derailed by Covid the past two years.

Even in the best, most ordinary of times, wedding prep can be…a lot. We’re here to help simplify your fashion fundamentals—whether you’re the blushing bride or best-dressed guest—with our new Wedding Shop, stocked with everything you need from shapewear that makes any gown look flawless to swimwear and sexy lingerie for the honeymoon.

Our timeline checklist makes it quick and easy to figure out and find what you need, when you need it. Let’s take the plunge.

THREE TO SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE

Right around now, you might start thinking about other marquee moments, like the bridal shower and the wedding night. A word of advice to the bride: Make known your lingerie and sleepwear likes and dislikes. Have bridesmaids spread the word so you’re not suddenly besieged by a pile of racy lace you’re never going to wear so long as you both shall be wed. And if you’re one for tradition, scoop up “something blue” around now, too, and set it aside in your bring-to-the-venue pile.

SIX WEEKS BEFORE THE WEDDING

Once you’ve got those honeymoon plane tickets on lock, pivot to swimwear and coverups. This timeframe gives you enough time to try on and return a bunch of options, so you love what you’re left with. Maybe you’re the type to wear a white suit broadcasting your new marital status, or you’re more for florals that fit in with the setting. Either way, choose suits that support your chest and play up curves, be they bra-sized, slimming or sporty, excursion-ready one-pieces and tankinis. Also important for the honeymoon: a strapless bra for going out and the balance of that saucy shower lingerie (see above).

ONE MONTH BEFORE THE WEDDING

As the main event gets closer, shift your focus to the details that make a difference. Red carpet stylists have long relied on things like fashion tape and nipple covers; why shouldn’t you? You may also want to consider treating your squad to matching rompers and robes that make for excellent behind-the-scenes, getting-ready candids.

AFTER THE WEDDING

Given all the planning that went into it, it’s hard to imagine the wedding is over in the proverbial blink of an eye. Between us, let it be known that you’re only going to be breaking out the lingerie for so long; eventually, your around-the-house ensemble is going to veer more slouchy than sexy in short order—as is the natural order of things. May as well make them as cozy as possible for couch-snuggling.
