How To Measure Bra Size

To find your bra size, you’ll need a tape measure and your best-fitting bra (preferably an underwire, not a minimizer or sports bra).

  1. Measure your band size

Wearing your bra, take a snug measurement around your ribcage, directly under your bust and level all around. If you get an odd number, round up to the next even number.
  2. Measure your bust size

Take a loose measurement over the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level around your body. If needed, round up to the nearest inch.
  3. Calculate your cup size

Subtract your band size from your bust size, and use the difference to find your cup size on the bra size chart below.

A Word About Bra Sizing

We get that bra sizing can be confusing. Our bodies are constantly changing, too, through weight loss, weight gain, pregnancy, nursing and aging. No wonder seven out of ten women are wearing the wrong bra size. Our expert amBRAssadors are on a mission to change that. We recommend getting fitted every six months. Chat with or call (877-728-9272 x4) an amBRAssador for a complimentary, personalized bra fitting.

Should You Measure Your Own Bra Size?

Measuring your bra size from the comfort of home is a great place to start. Bra size is just that: a start. You wear a different size in every pair of jeans, right? The same goes for bras! Determining bra size is as much an art as it is a science. The amBRAssadors are here if you need support.

The Benefits Of A Professional Bra Fitting

With twenty years of training and experience, our amBRAssadors can measure and fit you, by phone or chat. We often find women are wearing too big of a band size and too small of a cup size. The amBRAssadors understand how to quickly and easily get you into a better fitting bra. It all comes together when we get to know you—your body type, your breast shape, your budget, your style preferences.

Converting Bra Sizes

A bra made by a US brand is sized differently than one from Europe or the UK, so anything above a D-cup may need to be converted. When you’re looking at bras on our site, we’ll let you know if you need to convert your size in the Fit Note under Product Details.

Bra Size Calculator

Finding the right bra size takes time and effort. Our Convert My Bra Size tool does the work for you. If you wear anything above a D-cup, answer one simple question (“What brand do you wear?”), and our bra size calculator finds the right size equivalent in any brand we carry.
