The Bridal Necessities: Everything you'll need to know about bridal underpinnings.
Getting Started ....
The truly prepared bride-to-be will select her underpinnings before her first trip to the bridal boutique. While these wedding undergarments may not be the ones you'll be wearing down the aisle, you'll need something comfortable and flattering to wear when you try on dresses.
One option is to wear a comfortable strapless or convertible
bra and a pair of seamless boyshorts (if you're modest) or a thong
(if you're not). Just remember that you'll be trying on dozens of gowns in front of a room full of people. Choose undergarments that you'll be comfortable wearing all day – ones that will flatter your figure under any gown imaginable.
For now, abandon all images of brides wearing heavily adorned corsets and crinolines. In reality, it would be virtually impossible to create a smooth silhouette under modern fabrics if you're wearing lingerie trimmed with ruffles and bows. Even if you are wearing a traditional gown, you'll still want your first layer to be as smooth, comfortable and lightweight as possible. Some brides still choose to wear
bustiers and garters underneath, but if you are a bride-to-be who wants the minimalist look: go seamless!
